Yes, I am sorry I haven't added anything recently. To be honest, there have been so many interesting subjects which have taken my time, including MEDICINAL CANNABIS , I haven't yet decided which one to include here -so - watch this space !

ETHNIC ORIGIN AND FOOD CHOICES

2/24/2018

A lady came to see me complaining of indigestion, general abdominal discomfort and concern that her food choices were to blame for her malaise. She was raised by her Grandparents on a Red Indian reservation in North America.and emigrated to UK when she as in her forties. Her diet changed dramatically as she believed she should include many vegetables and very little animal food despite this diet being very far from what she had been raised on. Instead of meat and fish she ate pasta and quite a bit of rice. Her choices were influenced by articles in various health magazines which championed veganism and vegetarianism.
Whilst the vegetable content of her new diet was excellent, the avoidance of a high fat, fish and meat diet clearly did not suit her. Her blood group was O which is another reason why the swing to almost total vegetarianism was unsuitable.
When I explained the connection with her diet and ethnic origin she said it made sense and was keen to give my suggestions a try. After one month I was delighted to receive a phone call from this lady who was eager to tell me how much better she felt and also how her weight had returned to normal without any effort.
I wish all my patients were quite so simple !

PATIENTS FROM FAR AFIELD

Isn't it sad - good advice about natural health is in such short supply that patients are literally travelling hundreds of miles to see me. Just this year I have helped patients from : Bury St Edmunds, Bournemouth, Birmingham.
St Neot (Cornwall) Somerset. Truro, Plymouth, Bath, Bristol. London. Reading, Cheshire, Nottingham, and many overseas on line inquiries. This is not to mention the vast majority who come from Devon.
Good for business you might think. Yes, but I think it is very worrying.
The era of the antibiotic is ending ( thankfully) and people are having to go back to the more natural ways of dealing with their health issues. Sadly this is often after they have given up with standard treatment, weakened their body with the many chemical assaults on their immune system, and got thoroughly depressed and stressed in to the bargain !

BOSOM BUDDIES BARNSTAPLE

I was delighted to be invited to a group of ladies in Barnstaple who are seeking information about nutrition and cancer.
They were a lively group and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. They were very disappointed that throughout all their treatment sessions, no one had given them any information about what to eat and what to avoid. Just another example of how modern medicine is still in the dark ages !
Fortunately, several have made appointments to see me to find out more about the power of food and how they can add this to their treatment regime.
I only had about 1 hour to talk to them as the Rugby Club who kindly allow them to use their room, closes at 9pm. Anyway, I think I got the message across that the RIGHT FOOD IS THE BEST MEDICINE!

Good luck ladies!

AN AMAZING JUICER !

THE NUTRI BULLET
This is a fantastic small sized kitchen appliance for juicing and making smoothies. Far superior to anything I have seen so far.
Years ago I realized the need for fresh juices so I invested in an expensive American juicer. It was more powerful than the average juicer and seemed to need less preparation as the fruit and veg didn't have to be cut up very small. However, although it produced the juice, it still left a lot of left over pulp and was a beast to clean. It also easily got clogged up. So, needless to say after a while my enthusiasm wore off and it resided in the cupboard.
Enter the NUTRI BULLETT
It has several different sized cups and is so quick to use AND it doesn't clog up and is EASY TO CLEAN !!  The powerful blades can cope with nuts and seeds and there is a smaller blade for making flours and fine chopping.
If you buy from Ebay it costs around £60 for a refurbished machine instead of the £100 advertised for a new one. Mine had a damaged box and had obviously never been used.
I URGE EVERYONE TO GET ONE. The benefits of raw food can not be under estimated. I still take my Juice Plus every day as well of course. In fact, I open the capsules and pour them in as well, but the nutribullet means I can use my home grown veg and add things like ginger and flax seeds.
GET ONE !!!

SUGAR

At last ! Sugar is being exposed as the real demon when it comes to food. Fat is not the culprit as I said in my previous post. However, fat + carbs or sugar will = weight gain so make sure you know which are the healthy fats and how much saturated fat is OK.
Not sure ? ask me !
